The Marketing Specialist is responsible for completing all tasks assigned to them by the Marketing Manager. He/she will perform duties that support the Sales & Marketing team’s day-to-day activities. The Marketing Specialist will be responsible to assist with drafting internal and external communications; developing and enforcing brand standards; gathering customer insights and market intelligence; and developing technical documents and support materials. The Marketing Specialist will have knowledge of key marketing principles. He/she will be a critical thinker who works well both independently and with others.
The Marketing Specialist will report directly to the Marketing Manager. He/she will also work closely with the Product Specialist, the Customer & Market Insights Specialist, the Technical Writer, and other members of the Sales & Marketing team. Other internal contacts include members of the Graphics, Engineering, Parts & Service, and Logistics teams. External contacts may include various suppliers and customers.
-Assist the Marketing Manager in managing company website, planning tradeshows, drafting internal and external communications, and developing and enforcing brand standards.
-Assist the Customer & Market Insights Specialist with work on New Product Introductions, identifying new product and market opportunities or threats through on-going research and utilization of available information. This will include conducting primary and secondary research to investigate industry, market, and product trends; competitive products and materials; regulatory landscapes; etc.
-Assist Product Specialist in overseeing cohesion of product line, identifying required updates for support documents and implementing them, if applicable.
-Assist Technical Writer in developing and updating technical documents and support materials.
-Ensure assigned tasks are completed on budget and on time.
-Support Sales & Marketing team with completing ad-hoc tasks.
-Support the SureShot corporate culture through actions and an attitude that aligns with the company’s goals and desired behaviours. Strictly adhere to all corporate policies and directives regarding attendance, maintaining a respectful workplace, etc.
-Engage openly with all colleagues to foster an environment of teamwork and collaboration.
-Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a major in Marketing or a related discipline would be considered an asset.
-Minimum of five years marketing experience with strong working knowledge of marketing principles.
-Computer skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
-Basic skills in Graphic Design would be considered an asset.
-Fluency in English is compulsory.
-Fluency in a second language would be considered a strong asset.
-Must be able to prioritize tasks and manage a dynamic workload.
-Proven track-record of planning, executing, and analyzing the results of marketing tactics.
-Strong written and verbal communication skills.
-Strong research and analytical skills.
-Results oriented and a hard working self-starter with a positive attitude.
-Able to work on and manage multiple projects at any given time.
-Travel: May be required to travel internationally on occasion.
-Start Date: September 2018
-Length of Term: 1 year with possibility to extend
